Welcome to the brand spanking new thisisdunstable blog! The blog will serve as a daily (well, almost) journal of all things Dunstable, as well as general thoughts and ramblings.
Back in Dunstable!
You may have noticed the website becoming a bit stale over the past week or so. I’ve been away in Germany & Austria since Friday 15th, but I’m back in sunny Dunstable now, and the website will be top priority over the coming weeks.
We’re still looking for volunteers and information/photographs for the site, so if you have anything that may be of use, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us.
Dunstable escapes flooding… so far
The floods that have hit areas of England have kept well away from Dunstable… for now, at least. We’re told to expect two inches of rain over the weekend, so we can probably expect the Sainsburys/McDonalds bridge underpass to be flooded, as well as other notorious ‘floodholes’ in the town. My house has a downward-sloping driveway, and the drainage system in front of our garage isn’t very effective at all, so we’re likely to get some flooding in the garage over the weekend.
If you’re subject to any flooding or adverse weather effects over the week, please do send us your pictures and we’ll be glad to put them on the website.
